Holiday Gifts of Love – ♥

Hollah! Welcome to the Holiday Gifts of Love Blog Hop, hosted and awesomely put together by Carrie Ann Ryan.

I LURVE the holidays? Wanna know why?

Okay, I’m done yelling. But seriously, there is so much love in the holidays. It’s the season for giving.

So, my gift to you lovely readers is this: An epilogue to Delilah’s Passion ;)

Three Years Later

Delilah sighed as she stared out at the blanket of snow covering the front lawn. She shuddered, thinking about how hard it was going to be to get out to the barn to feed the goats the next morning. It had been snowing for three days and the snow was piled up in thick drifts behind the house where there were no trees to block the wind.

Laughter from the family room drew her attention back to the task at hand – basting the Christmas ham. Aiden was technically cooking the meal, but Delilah’s talents in the kitchen had expanded to include basting. She checked on her bread, which was still rising in its pan on the counter. She pulled out a stack of plates where she was intercepted by Aiden.

“Honey, I thought we agree I would do the heavy lifting from here on out?” he said.

“This is a stack of plates, Aiden. It’s hardly heavy,” she argued.

“Semantics,” he said. “I’ll do the lifting, heavy or otherwise. We need you to make it two more weeks at least. If you’re going to be difficult, I’ll send you back to bed.” Delilah had been on partial bed rest for two weeks already, and had, ideally, six weeks left in her pregnancy.

“Try it.” Delilah glared at Aiden furiously, daring him to push his luck. Her first pregnancy had gone as smoothly as could be and they now had an eighteen-month-old daughter waiting in the living room. This second pregnancy, however, had been a serious of missteps and setbacks. The latest was Delilah’s dangerously high blood pressure – that was what had finally resulted in partial be rest.

Delilah turned on her heel and walked into the living room, joining her family for present opening. The towering tree in the corner, the stockings on the mantel – it was exactly the kind of Christmas she’d always wanted to give a child.
The difference three years had made was staggering. It struck her suddenly, how she had had no family from the time she was eighteen, and suddenly, she found her home full of family – Caitlyn and Carter, her father, Jim, whom she would probably always call Jim, Aiden, her beautiful baby girl, Nadine, and the new baby on the way.

Finally, finally, she was home.

One of my favorite Christmas Romance Books is The Untamable Rogue by Annette Blair! The story is about Ashford Blackburne Fifth Earl and he has to get married and get his willing bride pregnant before Christmas or his grandfather won’t let him inherit his money. Ash truly needs to inherit the money because his late father squandered it all away and he is taking care of his mother. After getting stood up at the alter, again, Ash and his friends go to the local pub where the owner plays a drunken Ash in a card game…his consolation prize is the pubs daughter Larkin, who he wants to get ride of. Ash has to learn to forgive…Larkin has to learn how to trust…can two completely different people find love together. This is a cute, extremely funny, romantic story with a surprise Christmas ending!
