The splendor of fall. I live in Minnesota. We get amazing fall color up here. That’s a big part of the reason that I set my debut novel, Delilah’s Passion, in Minnesota, near my hometown.
“Underneath the tarp was a chromed out Harley Davidson Fat Boy with a custom paint job. The gas tank and chassis of the bike were painted blaze orange with black flames. The seat was traditional black leather and there was no sissy bar. Aiden threw a leg over the bike and lifted the kickstand with his heel. Then he flipped down the foot pegs for Delilah and kicked the bike over. He put his helmet on and motioned for Delilah to mount the bike.
He slid a finger inside Delilah’s helmet; suddenly, she could hear him talking over the rumble of the engine. “The helmets are equipped with wireless communication sets so we can talk. There’s a little button on your helmet,” he demonstrated on her helmet, “just press it down when you want to talk.”
Delilah was thoroughly amused with the new toy, and it took all her restraint to stop herself from piping in every fifteen seconds. Instead, she wound her arms tightly around Aiden’s waist and tried to pretend that her panties weren’t getting damp. Even with the wind, she could smell him, earthy and musky and man. She could feel his hard back against her chest and his firm chest underneath her hands.
With her head resting on his shoulder, Delilah admired the bold fall colors – red Oaks, orange Maples and yellow Birches – interspersed with the evergreen and blue of pines and spruces. The wind bit at her fingers as they whipped down the road. The air in Minnesota was so much cleaner than it was in New York; it smelled like every happy memory from her childhood.”
