Why I NaNo

Last year, 2010, was my first year of NaNo.  I did it for the challenge, purely to see if  I could write a novel in a month.   The good news is I discovered I can write a novel in thirty days.

This year, I’ll be doing NaNo again, but this time, I’m doing it for the camaraderie and support.  The forums are the greatest place.  Seriously.  They have a set of forums divided by genre as well as forums based on where you live.  You can ask anyone anything and expect an honest, helpful answer.

Last year I started a weekly write-in that is still going on.  I meet with a group of three awesome girls and we write and plot and help one another.  Without NaNo, I wouldn’t know these girls.

So, if you’re looking for a Writing Buddy, add me.  I’m SarahBella there too.

One Response to Why I NaNo

  1. The support is exactly why I decided to try NaNo last year. Only I wasn’t outgoing enough and didn’t end up making many contacts. In the end, I discovered that NaNo is simply not the way I write, so I think I’m going to sit it out this year.

    Good luck to you!
